Benefits of riding a simulator
The simulator can be used by anyone, from beginners to experienced riders, from the age of 5 upwards. The simulator walks, trots and canters.
Beginners can learn how to find their balance and practice their ‘riding’ for as long as they are physically able to. The rider doesn’t need to worry about controlling the horse and can concentrate on their position, making sessions on the simulator more productive and safer.
The simulator can help people returning to riding after a break or rehabilitating after injury.
The simulator enables more experienced riders to practice and refine their technique and stability, in preparation for more advanced ridden work.
As well as ‘ridden’ work, EquiSynergy have access to ‘off-horse’ resources including:
- Exercises to identify body asymmetry
- Pre-riding exercises to ‘switch on’ the riding muscles
- Exercises that can be done at home to improve and maintain flexibility and postural changes.
- Use of resistance bands, Franklin balls and other equipment to heighten feel and increase awareness of body use and how this may impact on the horse’s movement.
- EquiSynergy coaches also teach clients on their own horses, putting the lessons learnt on the simulator into practice.
